Welcome to the website of the 3rd European Iron Academy (EIA), which will be taking place on 12-13 September 2016 at the Hotel Scandic Berlin Potsdamer Platz, Berlin, Germany.
The European Iron Academy is an independent educational event organised by a Steering Committee of international experts in iron deficiency (ID) and iron deficiency anaemia (IDA). The event will bring together medical specialists with an interest in ID and IDA with the aim of achieving the following objectives:
- Convey the latest knowledge about ID/IDA
- Discuss safety and best practise in the treatment of ID/IDA
- Discuss the global burden, prevalence and real-world impact of ID/IDA across different specialties
- Share practical clinical experiences across different specialities and treatment settings
Using a mixture of plenary, meet-the-expert and interactive clinical case discussion sessions, the expert Faculty will present the latest findings around the topic of ID/IDA from the fields of cardiology, gastroenterology, nephrology, anaesthesiology and haematology.
The European Iron Academy 2016 is accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide the following CME activity for medical specialists. The EACCME is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) http://www.uems.net.
The European Iron Academy 2016 is designated for a maximum of (or ‘for up to’) 6 hours of European external CME credits. Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.
